PSC
The designers and engineers area to work. They are low to allow employees to not feel so crammed, but also can be closed off to feel more private.
Ventilation system
All around the building you can find these. They explain how this particular building is certified LEED.
Diagram that explains the layers of ground on there green roof.
Green roof!
Unique wall panel that I found to be interesting.
Overall this experience was fun. The green roof was nice to see, considering you don't see that everyday in Lubbock.

What I have learned from this course
Interior
Materials taught me a lot of things throughout the semester. Its main purpose
was to teach us the selection of materials used in residential and
nonresidential environments. Throughout the course we went on field trips to
local businesses that had to do with materials such as a flooring business. I
for one enjoyed these field trips because not only did I learn something
valuable from each one of them but being able to see first hand how the
businesses operate was nice as well. After each field trip it was required for
us to create a blog post about our experience. These blog assignments allowed
me to go back, and reflect on what I had seen. It was also required that we
have a photo shop image to go along with the blog. I have never worked with
photo shop before but I am now able to do pretty much anything on it. It also
allowed for me to use the program in other classes.
One
of the main focuses of the class was our swatch kit. Each week we had a quiz
over the fabrics. I am now able to identify eighty four of the most popular
fabrics, from there name to the fiber count. We also had three major projects
that I really enjoyed working on. I had already come into the class knowing how
to do elevations and floor plans but, these projects allowed me to further my
training. With these projects, I also learned how to create project boards on
the computer. I for one really liked the fact that we changed from doing the
finished project by hand to doing it with the computer.
Overall this
course was a very valuable learning experience. The things that I have learned
throughout the semester are things that I can take with me, and use in the near
future. Each assignment/project/test had a purpose, and I learned a lot from
each one of them. If I had to pick a favorite part about the course it would undoubtedly
be the field trips. It was nice to get away from the usual classroom lectures,
and really get out there, and see the businesses that deal with the Interior
Design industry.
